dll call no array return

Recommended Posts

Bluesmaster

Hello Communty,

is it possible to make this a one-liner:

$r =  DllCall("user32.dll", "uint", "RegisterWindowMessageW", "wstr", "IPCMESSAGE" )
$WM_IPCMESSAGE = $r[0]

best regards

Bluesmaster

Bluesmaster,

You can code it like this using the Beta version of AutoIt:

$WM_IPCMESSAGE =  DllCall("user32.dll", "uint", "RegisterWindowMessageW", "wstr", "IPCMESSAGE" )[0]
But I question the value of reducing the code by a single line in this case - particularly as it removes the ability to check for an error return from the DllCall before accessing the presumed data array.

Bluesmaster,

Download and install the Beta version of SciTE4Autoit3. That way everything will play nicely together. :)

Thank you both. Is there an average time for such betas to become releases?

Bluesmaster,

As always, the Beta will be converted to a release when Jon believes it is ready. The current one is pretty close to my mind - I use it all the time now. :)
