Hi,

I'm trying to learn how to use AutoIt as a portabilizer...

Are there specific tutorial and step by step guide?

Thanks.

Maybe you could explain what it is you want as the  current provided question is not that clear. :)

Do you want to use AutoIt3 as portable application or something?

AutoIt scripts by default are portable and don't leave many traces behind on the computer when ran. Only you can make your program/script not portable by integrating it with other (from the script's perspective) 3rd party applications or leaving data outside your script's directory.

There was a discussion on this from last year that has older files included in it (which were old when it was posted so older now) ... but the premise was that AutoIt could be used to make other apps portable.  I did not download the files but it was mentioned they were Au3.  That said, here is the older thread in case it is of any value:

Thanks to everybody for the interest.

I'm talkin about the creation of portables...

But not the simplest way, like move registry or AppData.

To create a Launcher involve write files (ex Hosts) and so on.

About NSIS (or other tools like PortableApps) there are many tutorial step-by-step to create easily your own a personalized launcher,..

Explain, in detail, what you're trying to accomplish. "Creation of portables" could mean a hundred different things to people, if we know exactly what it is you want to do, we can narrow down how to do it.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
