Hey! I've just read that topic, but I forgot where. hehe!

to stop a service you can use

net stop servicename

and to pause i think it's

net pause servicename

and autoit

Func _pause($service)
    Run("net.exe pause " & $service)
EndFund

oh and to unpause it's net continue

There could be dependency to that service by another one(s), so it is probably better idea to use some other method in order to achieve full automation.

sc /?

Google your friend:

SC -Service control

SC.exe
