Achilles Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 @IchigoIts perhaps unlogicable but its better to play with arrows because when you turn piece with a or z you have to search space bar...Cheers, FireFox.I use my thumb... so no searching is needed. But, like I said above, customizable hotkeys are coming so there's no need to shoot yourself over me not using the up arrow for anything. Achilles Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 If anybody can find sound effects better than these I would greatly appreciate it. I just took these out of the game (or rather from a youtube video of someone playing the game). These sound effects were recorded while one of the themes was playing so sometimes there's an extra note or bleep.. Sound_Effects.zip Note: I don't need the music, just the sound effects (unless you have the music that plays after game over, I just have the three theme songs right now). BrettF Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I don't really like the sounds you have. I whipped these up. Probably have issues with timing cause it was a quick job, but I like them better. Maybe have a sound for removing a row of blocks, and one for tetris? The controls did lag every so often, but it seemed okay most of the time. I might use your move sound, it seems better. I'm already working on a solution for the controls lagging, I couldn't sleep last night so I was busy thinking about it. sandin Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 (edited) here's original tetris music: LINKI got error when I went to High Scores before INI file was created$temp = StringSplit($hist[$i][1], '|') $temp = StringSplit($hist^ ERROR(I also recommend you make high score file inside of script dir, cuz in temp it might get deleted accidentally)there's also issue of rotating item when it's touching the left/right edge of tetris (it's not rotating )and you could also make it rotate on the "up" key (beside "a" and "s"), cuz most tetris games are using "up" key, and ppl got used to that btw, good looking tetris, and good job Edited January 15, 2009 by sandin Some cool glass and image menu | WinLIRC remote controler | Happy Holidays to all... | Bounce the sun, a game in which you must save the sun from falling by bouncing it back into the sky | Hook Leadtek WinFast TV Card Remote Control Msges | GDI+ sliding toolbar | MIDI Keyboard (early alpha stage, with lots of bugs to fix) | Alt+Tab replacement | CPU Benchmark with pretty GUI | Ini Editor - Edit/Create your ini files with great ease | Window Manager (take total control of your windows) Pretty GUI! | Pop-Up window from a button | Box slider for toolbar | Display sound volume on desktop | Switch hotkeys with mouse scroll
UEZ Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Very good job Ichigo Apropos music, why don't you use mod audio files using bassmod.dll? There are pretty nice and small audio files. Maybe there is also a Tetris mod sound available... UEZ Please don't send me any personal message and ask for support! I will not reply! youknowwho4eva Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I don't like the shadow of where it will drop. Takes away some of the challenge. The board seems a little small. As in not wide enough and not tall enough. The best Tetris game I ever played I had on my Windows 95 computer somewhere around 10 years ago. It was full screen, had a graphic back ground, as you increased in level it got faster, the music changed, and the background changed. The last level was a picture of jets. I will say it looks impressive, but for a guy that used to be able to extend a Tetris game for hours with the blocks moving so fast that if you blink they are stacked to the top, it needs a lil work. Altogether though it is impressive. Keep up the good work. Can't wait for customizable keys I prefer up to rotate. The old school only had one directional rotate. Giggity
FireFox Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 @Ichigo Nice update, keep it up Cheers, FireFox.
