$Var as Func. and Func within Func

Recommended Posts

Ok before my head explodes! please help is there a way for a Variable to be a function? right now i have it working as a HotKeySet. I would like to change that .

Also is there a way to have 2 functions running in one func ie;

Func 1func()
   msgbox(0,'','1')
         Func 2func()
             msgbox(0,'','2')
         Endfunc
EndFuncoÝ÷ ØX§jYrËaz·Á¬¢;¬¶»§jö«¦åy«¢+ÙÕ¹ÑÍÐ ¤(ÀÌØíYÈôµÍ½à À°ÌäìÌäì°ÌäìÅÑÍÐÌäì¤()¼(ÀÌØíYÈ(ì´´´´üüüÕ¹ÕÑÕÍÌ)U¹Ñ¥°á¥Ð()¹Õ¹

Func 1func()
   msgbox(0,'','1')
         Func 2func()
             msgbox(0,'','2')
         Endfunc
EndFunc

Becomes:

Func 1func()
   msgbox(0,'','1')
   2Func ()
EndFunc

Func 2func()
     msgbox(0,'','2')
Endfunc

don't understand what your trying to do for no 2...

Edit: helpfile has a lot of info on functions and variables, check it out.

Autoit is not multi-threaded... if that is what you were shooting for.

Helpful tips:If you want better answers to your questions, take the time to reproduce your issue in a small "stand alone" example script whenever possible. Also, make sure you tell us 1) what you tried, 2) what you expected to happen, and 3) what happened instead.Useful links:BrettF's update to LxP's "How to AutoIt" pdfValuater's Autoit 1-2-3 Download page for the latest versions of Autoit and SciTE
<glyph> For example - if you came in here asking "how do I use a jackhammer" we might ask "why do you need to use a jackhammer"<glyph> If the answer to the latter question is "to knock my grandmother's head off to let out the evil spirits that gave her cancer", then maybe the problem is actually unrelated to jackhammers
better example

$Edit = GuiCtrledit('',100,200)

;--------------------------

With in edit box contains;

func oNfly()

msgbox(0,'','test')

endfunc

;--------------------------

In script

func 1Func()

$val= guictrlread($edit)
; ===Need someway to run what was read from edit..
; Now $val should =
;func oNfly()
;msgbox(0,'','test')
;endfunc

Do
    $val
Until Exit
endfunc

@SpookMeister I think thats the answer im looking for thanks

lordicast,

If you have a pre-determined list of functions that could be entered then you could use a Switch:

Func 1Func()

$val= guictrlread($edit)
Switch $val
    Case "Tom"
        Tom()
        Exit
    Case "Dick"
        Dick()
        Exit
    Case "Harry"
        Harry()
        Exit
EndSwitch

EndFunc

Func Tom()
; code
EndFunc

Func Dick()
; code
EndFunc

Func Harry()
; code
EndFunc

I hope that helps.
