Multiple ToolTips Not Displaying..?

11 posts in this topic

I have 150 AU3.EXE Processes running simultaneously that Tooltip the Info that they process.

But it seems that only a certain amount of tooltips are allowed to be shown at any given time, so im wondering if this a setting or flaw withing autoit or windows xp..?

Anybody know..?

I'm having a problem with having multiple AutoIt processes tooltiping their infos all at the same time..

I have 200 AU3 processes, and only about 100 of them are able to tooltip at any given time, the rest just show up as blank shadows..?

So I was wondering if it would be possible at all to have all these 200 processes report their info to some main GUI process that lists/updates all their info inside of it..?

Would it be feasible at all to do something like this or is there some other better way to accomplish this task..?

@cypher175, So why are you being impatient again?

Believe you have been warned about this before.

200 now? it was 150 a short while ago

How about showing the info all in one tooltip, thats if you are fond of tooltips, personally I'd use a gui and lables or edit control or some other gui element.

how could I do it so they all report into one GUI..?

cypher175,

Perhaps something along these lines? :graduated:

#include <GuiConstantsEx.au3>
#include <WindowsConstants.au3>
#include <ScrollBarConstants.au3>

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 300, 200)

$hList = GUICtrlCreateList("", 10, 10, 280, 180)

GUISetState()

AdlibRegister("_StringAdd", 1000)

Do
Until GUIGetMsg() = $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE

Func _StringAdd()

    GUICtrlSetData($hList, "New string " & @SEC & "|")
    GUICtrlSendMsg($hList, $WM_VSCROLL, $SB_LINEDOWN, 0) ;Scroll the ListBox control

EndFunc   ;==>_StringAdd

how could I make it so each .exe just uses a lil title window with only a [X] close button at the end of it, and also make the title of the window be updated with new info/text every time the info changes..?

is there some other way to update just the title of the window bar, or is this the only way like the example i have here..?

#include <GuiConstantsEx.au3>
#include <WindowsConstants.au3>

$Num = 0

Do
$Num += 1
GUICreate($Num, 250, 20, 0, 20, $WS_SIZEBOX, $WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW)
GUISetState()
Until GUIGetMsg() = $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
