steps after comparing arrays

5 posts in this topic

Ok so I found this _ArrayCompare deal and have used it, what im doing is building two arrays. So one is based on a folder structure, a folder i have has folders named 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 9.4 ect. I format those to show up as 91, 92, 93, 94.

The other array is reading from an XML file, each node in a section is named v91, v92, v93, v94 ect. I format those down to just 91, 92, 93, 94.

So the folder array will change, if a new folder is added like "9.5" then the _arraycompare will display that.

My issue is, what is the best way to detect the change? (id think checking [0] and if its = to 1) Then for the array compare the new item will show as 1 the others will be 0. So then how would i check each array item until the end of the array for any 1's?

Use Ubound() to get how many indexes are in the array and then use For/Next to go through each one and compare - if I understand what you want, this will work.

Do/While will also work, but the norm is to use For/Next

For $x = 0 To Ubound($arrayName) - 1 ; because the array index starts at ZERO

If $arrayName[$x] = 1 then

; your code here

EndIf

Next
