First Autoit Script

6 posts in this topic

I'm attempting and failing to write my first script. Basically want to set up fing to run and do a discovery check on my network.

Here is what I have so far:

; Fing Discovery Tool
Run('"C:\Program Files (x86)\Overlook Fing 2.1\bin\fing.exe" --interactive --fromstartmenu')
WinWaitActivate("C:\Program Files (x86)\Overlook Fing 2.1\bin\fing.exe")
Send("d{ENTER}b{ENTER}1{ENTER}y{ENTER}{ENTER}t{ENTER}html{ENTER}f{ENTER}fing{ENTER}n{ENTER}y{ENTER}{ENTER}")

when I run the script the app runs but then it gives me this error:

Seems like a pretty simple thing I'm attempting but I'm just starting today and still getting used to the syntax. Any help?

There is no function called WinWaitActivate.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Here's one XD

WinWaitActivate($hwnd)

Func WinWaitActivate()
  WinWait($hwnd)
  WinActivate($hwnd)
EndFunc

“Hello, ladies, look at your man, now back to me, now back at your man, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped using ladies scented body wash and switched to Old Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re on a boat with the man your man could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an oyster with two tickets to that thing you love. Look again, the tickets are now diamonds. Anything is possible when your man smells like Old Spice and not a lady. I’m on a horse.”

Func _WinWaitActivate($title, $text, $timeout = 5)
    WinWait($title, $text, $timeout)
    If Not WinActive($title, $text) Then WinActivate($title, $text)
    If Not WinWaitActive($title, $text, 5) Then
        Return 0
    Else
        Return 1
    EndIf
EndFunc   ;==>_WinWaitActivate

The only time I have seen WinWaitActivate used is when a script is created with Koda Au3Recorder. Wonder if the OP is pulling from a larger script and just missed the function.

Edit: Noticed I mistyped after BrewManNH's post, meant the recorder but typed Koda :>

AU3Recorder uses that function name when creating a script. There have been complaints that it's not writing that function when it creates the script.
