Question regarding _ArrayDisplay

7 posts in this topic

Hey, got a question for you guys.

I have an array I am displaying and want to know if there is a way to auto adjust the width of the headers to the size of the header label? This is what I currently have when I display the array.

But I want something more like this.

Now I imagine I can't automatically adjust the size of the window but if I could adjust the size of the header's width that would be great.

Any tips? Thanks!

You can also somehow adjust colum size by adding enough whitespaces to the column of the first row of your array.

Or you are building your own _ArrayDisplay, as i did:

This demo:

#include <date.au3>
#include "MyArrayDisplay.au3"

Dim $array[1000][3]
For $i = 0 To 999
    $array[$i][0] = Chr(Random(65, 67, 1)) & Chr(Random(65, 67, 1)) & Chr(Random(65, 67, 1)) & Chr(Random(65, 67, 1)) & Chr(Random(65, 67, 1)) & Chr(Random(65, 67, 1)) & Chr(Random(65, 67, 1)) & Chr(Random(65, 67, 1)) & "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" & Chr(Random(65, 90, 1))
    $array[$i][1] = Random(1, 31, 1) & "." & Random(1, 12, 1) & "." & Random(1960, 2000, 1); Pseudo-Datum ohne Prüfung auf Existenz z.B.31.02.2010 durchaus möglich
    $array[$i][2] = $array[$i][0]
Next
;_FileWriteFromArray2D('Arraytest.txt',$array)
_MyArrayDisplay($array,"MyArraySort Autosize","-1|-1|-1")
_MyArrayDisplay($array,"MyArraySort Fixed","500|300|500")

uses this include:  MyArrayDisplay.au3 have fun, if you update it please send the updated source.

I don't know exactly, but i think original i used was from version 3.3.6.3.

You can also set the column width to match the header width instead of the text inside the columns by using $LVSCW_AUTOSIZE_USEHEADER which is equal to -2 in the $iMax_ColWidth parameter of the _ArrayDisplay function, or just include the ListViewConstants.au3 file in your script.

Just checked, don't bother trying to use that one, the function is written to only use the $iMax_ColWidth if the width set is longer than the desktop width dimension -100. I have no idea the reasoning behind this because if I only want to show 2 characters in my arraydisplay, it should let me do that.
