@damian666 -- let them work it out in peace. It is probably not a good moment to pester for status.

Doesn't work needs to be ripped out of the troubleshooting lexicon. It means that what you tried did not produce the results you expected. It begs the questions 1) what did you try?, 2) what did you expect? and 3) what happened instead?

Any time you ask anything about a release, you are pestering, period. Normally nobody has a clue (not even Jon, sometimes...) when a release is going to come out. This time you happened to catch us when I saw Jon was doing a release but I found something at the last second that I wanted to fix before the release. That wasn't an invitation to start asking questions about what was holing us up.

So while it's true "a guy can ask" a guy can also expect somewhat terse responses from veterans who know the score on the subject of asking about releases.

@damian666 - I was actually trying to save you from that public thrashing. You didn't listen. You'll learn or you'll just end up leaving mad.

Please don't reply to this thread anymore. It is an important announcement thread that needs to be clear of this sort of banter.

AutoIt v3.2.12.0 (Release Candidate 2)

http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/files/...0-rc2-setup.exe

Changes since the last beta (3.2.11.12)

- Fixed #252: Edit control not correctly getting focus after ALT-TAB.

- Fixed #254: GuiGetCursorInfo() fixed again!

- Fixed #256: Multiple windows and multiple tab controls were messing each other up.

What is a Release Candidate?

The normal beta versions are compiled in "beta" mode that has slight differences in the installer logic and the components that are installed. Before we release a final version we create a "Release Candidate" that is compiled and installed in non-beta mode. This allows us to test things we may have missed during general beta testing.

Where can I download it?

Please download the RC installer from: http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/files/...0-rc2-setup.exe

Note: You will need to uninstall any beta versions before installing the Release Candidate.

What should I test?

First remove all components (SciTe, Betas, etc) and check that it installs/uninstalls cleanly. Also check that the "lite" version of SciTe that comes built in works correctly.

Suggested things to test:

  • Install/Uninstall
  • SciTe "Lite"
  • Helpfile (History page, Script Breaking Changes page in particular)
  • File associations, right-click "edit script", "compile", etc
  • x64 versions (if you have them)
In particular, if the RC breaks your existing scripts is it already covered in the History or Script Breaking Changes pages?

Reporting Bugs

Please report bugs using the AutoIt Trac system.

First check if anyone else has logged the bug: http://svn.autoitscript.com/trac/query?sta...=1&type=Bug

If not raise a new ticket: http://svn.autoitscript.com/trac/newticket

Other discussions about the Release Candidate can be done in the usual beta thread: http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.ph...iew=getlastpost

I reported ticket 222 a few weeks ago, and two days ago, I updated the status -- it seems the fix did not actually work (at least in specific cases). It's still a problem with the latest build.

Because I lack the permissions to reopen the ticket, no one has responded to acknowledge that it is being looked at, and the RC -> stable phase is quickly closing in, I don't know where else to bring this up. Apologies if this is in the wrong location :|

Edit: Or does the apparent conflict with the registering of a handler for WM_GETMINMAXINFO count as a new bug report...?

Admittedly not, as I didn't expect that opening a dupe ticket was acceptable (I was trying to keep all discussion on the bug in the same ticket). Now that I do see the new ticket, though...

/me pipes down >_>

It's a nasty bug that has been around forever. With the way the code is currently structured we break either GuiRegisterMsg or general function calls so we need to rewrite it totally. That's risky of course as it's a fundamental bit of code so it's probably not going to make it in this release.

AutoIt v3.2.12.0 (Release Candidate 3)

http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/files/...0-rc3-setup.exe

Changes since the last beta (3.2.11.12)

- Fixed #252: Edit control not correctly getting focus after ALT-TAB.

- Fixed #254: GuiGetCursorInfo() fixed again!

- Fixed #256: Multiple windows and multiple tab controls were messing each other up.

- Fixed #255: Random(Min,Max,1). Previously this would never actually return Max,

so if Max was artificially incremented by one the script will now need to be changed.

- Fixed #251: GUIRegisterMsg() and Return values.
