Is This Bad, I Think So

Recommended Posts

You could use Vmware to test this stuff. No big deal blowing up a VM machine. you can always set it back, and no harn done. I use it for testing stuff I'm not sure about. But to be on the safe side, I have it running on a stand alone PC, just in case the thing has a network piece that could cause a problem.

Does anyone really believe this to be a virus? A harmful batch, but not a virus - IMHO.

All by me:

Badware - the reason why there are so many false positives for AutoIT code from anti-virus vendors. This person is an attention seeking skript kiddie. Even if the code is disarmingly stupid and simple, running it will result in downtime and probable loss of data.

Solution: http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.ph...gnore&uid=11389

Wait till your widely deployed commercial solution is falsely identified as a trojan and your support area has to field calls as to why the software is broken, or worse, ask why your software is infected. Waste of time? Cost money? Loss of business or confidence on your products? Not funny any more.
