TidyIt function comments

9 posts in this topic

When I run TidyIt from my work pc the functions get updated with something like "EndFunc ;==>Results" but when I run it from home pc I am not getting the added comments after the EndFunc line.

What do I need to do to get this feature to work at home?

Did you check the ini file in the tidy folder?

Did you check the ini file in the tidy folder?

;)

This what I have - and mine is doing the same thing. The only INI I have is called - TidyV2_Example.ini

[ProgramSettings]

*** (tabchar)Indent setting: 0=Tabs >0=Number of Space

tabchar=0

*** Update Functions/Keywords/Macros/UDFs to Proper case

proper=1

*** Update Variables to: 1=LowerCase; 2=UpperCase; 3=First Dim/Local/Global or "First_Seen" Case (Only in combination with Proper=1)

vars=3

*** Update Spaces around Delimiters (Only in combination with Proper=1)

delim=1

*** Added comment to EndFunc statement e.g. "EndFunc ;==>UDF_Name"

endfunc_comment=1

*** Generate Documentation file for the Program With Func and Variable X-ref report

*** and optionally Display it with Notepad at the end of the Tidy run.

Gen_Doc=0

Gen_Doc_Show=0

*** Keep x Version of the File before the Tidy run and optionally store them in SubDirectory "\Backup"

KeepNVersions=5

backupDir=1

*** Remove Empty lines from Script Source

Remove_Empty_Lines=0

*** 1=Show Tidy Errors in Console 9=Debug Output

ShowConsoleInfo=1

*** Run DIFF program at the end of the Tidy run to show the difference between original and new program.

ShowDiffPgm=C:\Progra~1\WinMerge\winmerge.exe "%new%" "%old%"

I prefer no comment on that setting and it works ;).

I found the following but it doesn't matter if it is set to 0 or 1. It never adds the comments to the end of functions. Mine also is called "TidyV2_Example.ini". No other ini files exist in the folder.

*** Added comment to EndFunc statement e.g. "EndFunc ;==>UDF_Name"

endfunc_comment=1

I have the example ini file "TidyV2_Example.ini" but I also have "tidy.ini". ;)

That did it. I needed Tidy.ini and "endfunc_comment=1" to turn it on. I tried it with a 0 and then it stopped working.

I wonder why tidy.ini did not exist. ;)

Thanks for the help.

JdeB may answer about the missing ini as I am unsure of the setup but I am just glad to help. ;)

I elected not to override the Tidy.ini with the rollout of the new Tidy release but added an example tidy file to explain the possible options with the new Tidy program ...

Will see if i can have it created when none is there yet ...
