Force input to an input

8 posts in this topic

I have a barcode scanner that passes numbers as keyboard entries when a barcode scanned.

I would like to force any input from this scanner into a certain window/input field. (Example: Notepad/Edit1)

I am OK with having ALL numeric keyboard entries to go to this field.

So basically, I think I need to have the script watch for any numeric keyboard input, and forces the numeric input into the proper window(Notepad) and proper input field (Edit1).

I need this to work, even if the Notepad program window is not active.

Ideas?

I tried _IsPressed but could not get the actual number to pass correctly.

If I understand correctly, this would basically be a keylogger that only logged numbers. Since posting keyloggers is not allowed, I'll pm a script to you in a bit that should do it.

I don't need it to function like a keylogger. I just need to force the barcode scanner input into the Edit1 field.

Checking for numeric entries was just the only way I could think of doing it. I am very open to any other ideas.

Is there a way to force all keyboard input to a certain field? If so, that might due.

Or, at the least...a way to keep the focus set to my notepad window and the edit1 field.

I am trying to develop an application for gathering input from barcode reader and am running into this very same issue. Any help with this would be very much appreciated...

This topic is over 6 years old, and the poster hasn't been here in 4 years, I wouldn't expect an answer.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
