HotkeySet + Send a number?

6 posts in this topic

I'm curious, am I being dumb or does this just not work?

HotKeySet("1", "_Test1")

Func _Test1()
Send("{1}") ; Tried with Send("1") as well.
EndFunc

While 1
Sleep(10)
WEnd

Damein,

Run this version and see if you can see where your mistake lies: ;)

HotKeySet("1", "_Test1")

Func _Test1()
    ConsoleWrite("HotKey Fired" & @CRLF)
    Send("1")
EndFunc   ;==>_Test1

While 1
    Sleep(10)
WEnd

Got it? :)

When you send the "1" inside the function the Hotkey is again executed

Try unsetting the Hotkey before you proceed

HotKeySet("1", "_Test1")

Func _Test1()
HotKeySet("1") ;Unset the Hotkey
Send("1")
;Your code goes here
HotKeySet("1", "_Test1") ;Reset the Hotkey
EndFunc ;==>_Test1

While 1
Sleep(10)
WEnd

This should be an rather more easy approach

#include <Misc.au3>
While 1
Sleep(10)
If _IsPressed("31") Then
;Your code goes here
EndIf
WEnd

Why do you want to put the script into an infinite loop?

Soon as you hit the "1" key the script sends a "1" which triggers the hotkey which sends a "1" which ... etc

If the task is to capture the "1" keypress - do something - then send the "1" to the system to be processed, you need to pause the Hotkey:

HotKeySet("1", "_Test1")
Func _Test1()
    HotKeySet("1")
    ConsoleWrite("HotKey Fired" & @CRLF)
    Send("1")
    HotKeySet("1", "_Test1")
EndFunc ;==>_Test1
While 1
    Sleep(10)
WEnd
