PACaleala
Hello In vbs is possible to check if a script was started using cscript or wscript. Can you do the same using autoit ? Could someone give me a hint ? Pac

spudw2k
I think all @compiled will do is determine if the script is "compiled" but it does not show how the process was launched. I think tools like Sysinternals ProcMon can retrieve the command line execution but I don't know how it is accomplished. Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted May 3, 2013 Moderators Share Posted May 3, 2013 (edited) PACaleala, whereas with vbscript you're calling the script host (wscript or cscript), this is not the case with AutoIt. Once compiled it is not "calling out" to an external program to run (it is all self-contained in the exe). Can you explain more what you're trying to do with your script? BrewManNH
Use @AutoItExe to tell you what the name of the exe that runs the script, if it's compiled it will be the name of the program you compiled it to, if you run it with AutoIt3.exe (or Autoit3_x64.exe), that will contain the name AutoIt3.exe (or Autoit3_x64.exe). If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. PACaleala
JLogan3o13 is right - here is the "long story"I am trying to automate an old exe which uses lots of command line parameters . The next step would be to write another function This udf is to detect if my script was started from command line and follow the "pseudo-code":IF script started from CLI then beep and start exe.IF script has not started from CLI then display some instructions and then start exe.Can it be done ? BrewManNH
Look for information regarding the $CmdLine parameter, you can find that in the help file under "Using Autoit --> Running Scripts".
