Renderer
Hello! Is there anyway to understand the Link-local IPv6, more exactly to read it as a normal IP address? Thanks in advance!
BrewManNH
Define "normal IP address". If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from. Guest vishnumethas
IPv6 link-local addresses are a special scope of address which can be used only within the context of a single layer two domain1. The left-most 'prefix length' bits of the address are those of the link-local prefix. 2. The bits in the address to the right of the link-local prefix are set to all zeroes. 3. If the length of the interface identifier is N bits, the right-most N bits of the address are replaced by the interface identifier.
