Detect ListView Item delay click

6 posts in this topic

Hi,

i try to simulate the $LVS_EDITLABELS behaviour so by clicking twice the item can be edited but the second mouse click has to be a little bit delayed to trigger the editing. The editing has to be done in other columns too, so i can't use $LVS_EDITLABELS.

So

- one click selects an item

- double click performs a specific function

- one click + another 800ms delayed click performs an editing

Does someone have an idea?

Trolleule,

Why not just use a modifier key to distinguish between a "normal" and "delayed" doubleclick cases? That way you can use the same handler to detect the doubleclick and then use _IsPressed to look for the modifier key and adjust the resulting action accordlingly.

Sure, but i got it. Now i try to select/mark the text in the edit control, but it seems impossible. I will open a new thread.

Thanks for your thoughts!

I think you will building a UDF for editing each Item in a LV. Why not using a already writen UDF, @Melba23 and @Kanashius have oublished one on autoitscript @BugFix and @Kanashius have published one on autoit.de. This 3 UDF's are surely not the only one, but i think the top 3. In https://autoit.de/index.php/Thread/12137-Perle-f%C3%BCr-alle-LV-Benutzer-gefunden-muss-aber-noch-poliert-werden/  i introduce a UDF (from Gary Frost) which integrats also DateTimePicker, ComboBox and ProgressBar by using callback.

hey AutoBert,

thanks for this inspiration. This example helds some really nice tricks, I grant, but sorry...the code is a piece of shit! The code has made me angry, the implementation is horrifically, but i have learned by watching.

The sub-title i give the thread is not correct: "must be polished first" => "must be rewriten" would be better. I used this 4. udf in a project with several LVs i full acknodledge.

I know there are listbox and listview, but now I have?
here is the video of infowindow
I tried to read mouse selection like for listbox:
      $listWindow = "[CLASS:TFormResearchGR]" $topicsList = "[CLASS:TMWrapper; INSTANCE:255]" WinWait($listWindow, "", 60) $hdlWindow = WinGetHandle($listWindow) $hdlList = ControlGetHandle($hdlWindow, "", $topicsList) _GUICtrlListBox_ClickItem($hdlList, 0, "left") $countOfList = _GUICtrlListBox_GetCount($hdlList) ConsoleWrite("Count of list: " & $countOfList & @LF) count of list is not working.
I realiezed that there are difference between listbox and listview, but this is something different.
and till now I never saw that you can go inside with infotool and also get instances.

so Im confused how to get the list number and the names of selection?

      Hello dear community,

definitely I need external help now. I've did all 'ControlClick() - Tutorials' and read a lot of topics about interaction betweend AutoIT and external programs.
The most of them are about "Clicking a button ...". In my case it's different because I need to click a specific element within the program.

The 'program' what I am talking about is called Mendeley. It's library software for documents administration.

In the attachements in picture '1.jpg' you can see the red marked Help element.
In the picture '2.jpg' you see the context menu of the Help element. This is what I'm trying to do with the ControlClick() function.

Following I represent my code which not worked for me:
#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3> Opt("WinTitleMatchMode", 2) $hWnd = WinGetHandle("Mendeley Desktop", "") MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "handle check", $hWnd) ControlClick($hWnd, "Mendeley Desktop", "Help") The MsgBox tells me the number of the handle of the Mendeley window. It's not 0 so for me it means the window is recognized correctly.

When I'm execute the script the Help element is not clicked.
      Any suggestions for me?

      Kind regards
      OtenMoten

I have a listview with 3 columns and I want to set the 3rd column's color based on the item's 'Param' value, but even though I set up for the 3rd column, the entire row always gets the color.

      hello guys
      how are you؟
      I hope to be fine.
      I have a question  please
how do I get the menu item that was pressed without that contains a variable؟
For example I have a menu  of Favorites and I want the script recognizes the existing path in the pressed item
i'll repeat to tell the item does not contain a variable
      Is there any solution
if you want to explain more I could write an example of what I want.
      Greetings to all,
      thanks in advance

This is a personal project to log into several facebook accounts and send a message to a specific person on their birthday. I need to stop a script in a few different ways for several different reasons. For example, it might start sending the email to the wrong account, it might do something other than send a message, it might fail to logout of one account, etc.
      1) Pause the script at it's exact location with a resume feature in case I need to put it on hold while I do another task.
      2) Pause the script at it's current location with the option to start over or execute another part of the script (example in GUI with multiple buttons).
Also, is there a way to interact with menus? If I log into facebook how can I force it to go straight to sending a message to the proper person? I tried automating a mouseclick but the window opens in different places. I also tried searching for specific text and I couldn't get any information from the windows info tool on the facebook page.
Also, how do I get my code in here to show like it does in my editor? (scite)
Thanks for looking at it, and any help/suggestions I sgreatly appreciated!
