Progress Bar and install aplication from client host - (Moved)

hi i am trying and i have been watching autoit technical forum. I would like to know how the percentage of a progress bar could be calculated while installing a third party application that I have on a server. The idea is from a client computer when clicking on a button that the application is installed (be careful, the application installs well and I have controlled that the progress bar grows for the duration of the process, but what does not occur to me or I do not know It is how the percentage of that program could be controlled, I have seen things that use such as dirgetsize ()) but I cannot see the solution well, is there a simple way and that the progress bar grows as the unattended installation is performed from a third party app? Yes, DirGetSize() is probably your best measure to calculate the progress of a silent installation, knowing in advance the actual installed size of the application.

Ok, but that percentage I understand that it will only move the progress bar when the process finishes ... and what I am looking for would be for the progress bar to grow while the application is installing in silent mode, for example with libreoffice.

An external AutoIt script, that monitors the progress of a silent App installation, might be difficult to implement. As long as it's just about copying directory structures, then DirGetSize() is a good approach (as @Nine already suggested).

For more extensive applications, however, additional processes usually take place. A typical example is the installation of a required "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable", which is called as a separate installer (inside the main installer). This makes it difficult to predict the progress.

The best option would be, if the application already provides a progress indicator (e.g. via command line switch) for silent/unattended installation. Unfortunately, this is often not the case.

Also one should keep in mind that directory size often experiences short periods of shrinkage as well as growth, as cleanup occurs and containers are discarded, leading to the unintuitive loss of progress shown in the bar.
