ChrisL Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 Hi I did a search but maybe I didn't have the right search terms. Can you change the directory that Autoit uses to compile scripts, by default it's the 'user' temp directory and then it gets moved to the script directory (or wherever you have it set in Scite) However Defender is always blocking the files during compile, so rather than setting an exclude directory of my 'temp' directory I wondered if it's possible to change the directory Autoit uses as its temporary compile location? Moderators Melba23 Posted January 13, 2022 Moderators Posted January 13, 2022 ChrisL, Quote by default it's the 'user' temp directory Are you sure? The default should be "C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Local\AutoIt v3\Aut2exe" - unless you have a non-standard installation. Nine Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 @Melba23 I think ChrisL is right in some situations. I believe when you are using a non-english character in the name of the file. Maybe Jos can confirm. All I really know is that I also needed to exclude my user temp folder in order to compile some of my scripts (quite a long time ago, I must say). “They did not know it was impossible, so they did it” ― Mark Twain Spoiler Block all input without UAC Save/Retrieve Images to/from Text Monitor Management (VCP commands) Tool to search in text (au3) files Date Range Picker Virtual Desktop Manager Sudoku Game 2020 Overlapped Named Pipe IPC HotString 2.0 - Hot keys with string x64 Bitwise Operations Multi-keyboards HotKeySet Recursive Array Display Fast and simple WCD IPC Multiple Folders Selector Printer Manager GIF Animation (cached) Debug Messages Monitor UDF Screen Scraping Round Corner GUI UDF Multi-Threading Made Easy Interface Object based on Tag
ChrisL Posted January 13, 2022 Author Posted January 13, 2022 Yeah I've definitely had some error in the temp directory. Can the path be set/configured anywhere, so maybe I can use a folder outside of the user directory? JBird Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Any fixes for this or workarounds yet? It is rather annoying.
