Invisible MsgBox?

Recommended Posts

I am sure the invisible message box is not the only way to solve your problem :D, but you can create a custom message box with GUI, without showing it (don't use GUISetState()).

Something like that:

DummyMsgBox(1)

Func DummyMsgBox($iWait=1)
    GUICreate("Dummy MsgBox", 300, 200)
    Sleep($iWait * 1000)
EndFunc

There are those that believe that the perfect heist lies in the preparation.
Some say that it’s all in the timing, seizing the right opportunity. Others even say it’s the ability to leave no trace behind, be a ghost.

Hi,

Simple question:

How to make a time-outed (1 sec is OK) MsgBox invisible?

Sounds stupid, but it is the only solution for a special problem talked here> http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.ph...mp;#entry471962

What kind of database are you searching? It seems like you may be able to import your data source into your script, then have it do the lookup, so it's only waiting on itself, and you'd not need to use the clipboard, there are also some SQL functions i believe in the example scripts forum that may help you to directly interact with your data so you don't have to worry about timing execution or using the clipboard...

Yeah, starting on this path I learned about the bl**dy internal clipboard of Indy.

The point is that my data passes to the clipboard. But from there it is up to InDesign how and when to fetch to be able to send("^v").

I am searching my own two-column text database. It is a short stuff, only 35.000 records in it having 2*80 byte in each record average.

And it's got to be shown in a kind of html window to let user to choose which record to insert.

Anyway, the data passes to Windows clipboard nicely. Then comes Indesign to fetch and chew and do the Send({^v}). It comes arbitrary unfortunatelly. And I am after speedy Send({^v})-s.

Right, i completely get what you're after, i'm just saying that you may not need to use Indesign to do your fetching if you have access to the data. Your script can fetch and present without the need of ^c/^v
