_PathSplit without the backslashes

These lines

$fPath = WinGetTitle("[CLASS:Notepad++]", "")
_PathSplit($fPath, $szDrive, $szDir, $szFName, $szExt)
MsgBox(0, $fPath, "Drive = "& $szDrive & @crlf & "Dir = "& $szDir & @crlf &  "Filename = "& $szFName & @crlf &   "Extension = "& $szExt);

fetch me this info:

Drive = D:

Dir = \40\

Filename = 1

Extension = .txt - Notepad++

I, however, do NOT want the backslashes around the dir number. The reason being that I want to use the dir name as a variable and the \'s spoil the whole string.

Is there a way to have a simple

Dir = 40

so I can use the '40' in peace?

Just remove the "\" characters. Here are a couple of ways to do it:

$sDir = "\40\"

$sNewDir_1 = StringtrimRight(StringTrimLeft($sDir, 1), 1) ; if more than one folder deep

$sNewDir_2 = StringReplace($sDir, "\", "") ; if just the one folder

MsgBox(0, "", $sDir & @CRLF & $sNewDir_1 & @CRLF & $sNewDir_2)

Try:

$NewDir = StringReplace($szDir, "\", "")

Using this if the directory the file is in is more than just one folder deep, you will end up with, if for example the directory structure equals "D:\40\Subfolder\Subfolder1\1.txt" $NewDir will equal "40subfoldersubfolder1". So you'd have to modify this if you're looking more than one folder deep.

$DIR = Stringmid($Dir,2,Stringlen($Dir)-2) & @CRLF)

$sNewDir_1 = StringtrimRight(StringTrimLeft($szDir, 14), 1)
