Extended window capturing

3 posts in this topic

I'm thinking about writing a screencap program that would capture not only the contents of a window but also, if the window stretches past the screen, to capture that too so I can have captures of large pages without having to glue them together by hand. The concept is simple enough - determine the dimensions and position of the window, store each individual pixel, send a page down command, compare pixels to see where the contents of the next page start, repeat. Problem is, is there any way to finally dump that pixel data into an actual image format?

Well, most of the stuff in that thread is a little out of my league for now - I think the only thing I wan to know is if there's a function available that can generate a bitmap from provided data?

      Hello,
i am searching for a function that allows me some very specific functions for Screen Captures.

First should be the possibillity to create a Screenshot from a specific window and this is possibly under another window but has to stay there and not getting forced to be in the first - layer position if this is clear enough :-) The other thing should be the ability to create a Screen Capture every couple minutes or a specific period.
I tried a lot of Screen Capture tools but neither can do both together.
Also my try to create my own script with AutoIT failed, because of missing knoweledge about how to use it for this specific reasons, would be very kind if someone can tell me in the first place if this is possible at all and maybe someone has allready an idea about how to realize it?

      best regards

I am trying to identify the window based on the window title and text.
The title will be the "erwin DM - filename"

It is working till date, but some operating systems our application is displaying window as "erwin DM - [filename]"

I tried  "erwin DM - *filename*" But this regular expression is not working.
      Any suggestion?

      $sModelFile = "C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\My Models\eMovies.erwin" $wdModel = _WinWaitActivate1("erwin DM - "&FileNameOnly($sModelFile),"") Func _WinWaitActivate1($title,$text,$timeout=0);Will Return the window Handler Logging("Waiting for "&$title&":"&$text) $dHandle = WinWait($title,$text,$timeout) if not ($dHandle = 0) then If Not WinActive($title,$text) Then WinActivate($title,$text) return WinWaitActive($title,$text,$timeout) Else Logging("Timeout occured while waiting for the window...") Exit EndIf EndFunc Func FileNameOnly($sFilePath) Local $sDrive = "", $sDir = "", $sFileName = "", $sExtension = "" Local $aPathSplit = _PathSplit($sFilePath, $sDrive, $sDir, $sFileName, $sExtension) ;_ArrayDisplay($aPathSplit, "_PathSplit of " & @ScriptFullPath) return $sFileName EndFunc

      Dear AutoIT Community.
I am currently working on a program that will display lots of images in a scroll down GUI.
I create the GUI based on the number of images, which works fine.
But all images I place using GuiCtrlCreatePic above a threshold of around 32000 pixels (cant say exactly) are placed at negative locations and finally will reach 0 again
and will then populate on top of the images placed there before.
      For $i = 1 To $Images[0] ; Get picture dimensions $hImage = _GDIPlus_ImageLoadFromFile($ImgRep & $Images[$i]) $iX = _GDIPlus_ImageGetWidth($hImage) $iY = _GDIPlus_ImageGetHeight($hImage) _GDIPlus_ImageDispose($hImage) ; Resize & place images in GUI $Pic[$i] = GUICtrlCreatePic($ImgRep & $Images[$i], $Spacer, Round($yPos, 0), $MaxImgWidth, $MaxImgWidth * ($iY / $iX)) $yPos = $yPos + $MaxImgWidth * ($iY / $iX) + $Spacer $log = $log & "|" & $yPos $currentlut = $Images[1] Next I have found a limit at 32767 pixels for some GUI elements when googling around.
Can someone tell me how to circumvent that?
      thanks!
      cheers
      Felix
