Hello all!

Does anyone know if there is a difference in executing external executables between cmd-prompt and an AutoIT RunWait-command?

I use a Installationwrapper to deploy softwareinstallations in our environment. The wrapper displays a messagebox and starts the installation after the user accepts it.

When i execute my setup string in a dos box (start /wait setup.exe /S /V"Someparameter=1"), the installation works fine. When executing it in the autoitscript using RunWait('setup.exe /S /V"Someparameter=1"'), setup crashes during installation.

I have had this effect when i had to install Mindmanager pro 6 about half a year ago and now i have the same problem again trying to install photoshop elements 9.

thanks in advance,

Andreas

Syntax:

Run / RunWait:

Run ( "program" [, "workingdir" [, show_flag[, opt_flag ]]] )

Example:

Run ("Notepad.exe", "c:\somefolder", "", @SW_MAXIMIZE)

ShellExecute/ShellExecuteWait:

ShellExecute ( "filename" [, "parameters" [, "workingdir" [, "verb" [, showflag]]]] )

Example:

ShellExecute ("myfile.exe", "silent", @ScriptDir, "edit")

Check the syntax of "Run" and use ShellExecute or ShellExecuteWait accordingly.
