Not an example or script.

Lets post icons!

This is just a thread where I'll attempt to collect existing autoit icons and post my own version, anyone who is capable of creating them is encouraged to post theirs!

Also, you might notice I have something for shiny looking things ;)

Here is a variation I made of the OEM autoit icon, here's the difference, when explorer displays the 32px and below version of the icons image index, you might notice that the silver ring in the original version of the autoit icon looks a little fat, in this version, it should look a little more slim and modern.

?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>

And ?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent> designed by weaponx and converted to icon by eignxing. Posted it here since it's relevant.

Here is another awesome icon created by AlmarM

For anyone interested in making their own version, here's the CS5 template for the EOM icon I use, just click the image to download.

Requests are considered, but I'm not a pro at this either :)

Edit: And if anyone is a bad enough dude to let me know what font is used in the autoit logo, that would be cool.

Edit: thanks damian666 for the prompt delivery!

I would like to see you (anyone actually) thinking and seeing things out of the box. Your vision of AutoIt expressed through visual design.

Things you show here are boring.

;)

Challenge accepted.

How's this?

Please excuse my laughable and complete lack of graphics skills.

lol, that's one huge icon, looks like you used paint for that too.

I know you didn't spend more than a minute on that, but for anyone interested, I'm using CS5 to make the 256px x 256px templates

then afterwords I export them as two png images (one with the version place holder and one without) and create the icon indexes using

IcoFX, very simple and you don't really have to worry much about detail since it all levels out when IcoFX processes the image into smaller

indexes, then when I'm done I just delete the 256 x 256 index and the result is a neat looking icon.

I'd post lots more but I just maxed out my attachments capacity of 1mb ;) and uploading them to various places is more of a hassle.

ApudAngelorum , i like your design, but seem you use low resolution in cs5, i'm not good designer but sometime, i will play with photoshop to make my program look good . and then, i like your post in this forum, i improve resolution of your design to this.

if you want my cs5 template or if you think this look nice, tell me, i will upload it.. ;)

Mine was a joke. All I did was make a mirror image kinda.

Of course I noticed that :D

Yes! that's why this thread is here, you should definitely post it!

I've tried one myself too.

I've updated the initial post, I made yours into a fully qualified icon, your version is pretty damn good.

woot, posting that font shot this thread up xd

Yep, I'm still waiting on knightz93 to deliver his version of the template, something tells me it's never going to happen...

Anyway, I've made some more icons, I'll call this the autoit neon set.

Aslo, I've reached the image limit for one single post in the op, so I'll continue posting icons in this post...

I'd ask the users of the forum to bring out their creativity and post your own version of the autoit icon! the more the better!

I didn't expect that, haha!

I'll try to create another one with another style sometime today.

this is another style from me, i like AlmarM color style, blue and black.. so i create in blue and black colour.. ;)..

Nice!

I do think though, it looks better if you just give the logo a black stroke border and remove the black background. :)

I did just that, this one has just a black ring border around it, looks nice, also added 3 other icons I fabricated a while ago.

One thing I'd like to know, do you know where I can find any tutorials for CS5 on how to get that shiny radial reflection you have going on there? I only know how to use the emboss feature but with that, I can't get that reflective looking saturated looking circle you've got going on in there..

That's rather simple.

It indeed is, bevel and emboss, nothing more.

Just play with the settings, see how they work, and put the angle right. That's all I did. ;)

I'm searching for a way to set an icon for a system menu entry in the console window. I can add / remove entries but I didn't find a way to set an icon for the entry I made.
      Example:
      #AutoIt3Wrapper_Change2CUI=y #include <GDIPlus.au3> #include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> #include <GuiMenu.au3> #include <WindowsConstants.au3> Global $id_Test = 5000 Global $hConsole = HWnd(DllCall("kernel32.dll", "hwnd", "GetConsoleWindow")[0]) If Not $hConsole Then Exit HotKeySet("{ESC}", "_Exit") Global $hSysmenu = _GUICtrlMenu_GetSystemMenu($hConsole) Global $iCount = _GUICtrlMenu_GetItemCount ($hSysmenu) _GUICtrlMenu_InsertMenuItem($hSysmenu, $iCount, "Test", $id_Test) _GDIPlus_Startup() $hBitmap_GDI = _GDIPlus_BitmapCreateFromMemory(_Test(), True) ConsoleWrite('@@ Debug(' & @ScriptLineNumber & ') : $hBitmap_GDI = ' & $hBitmap_GDI & @CRLF & '>Error code: ' & @error & @CRLF) ;### Debug Console $hBmp1 = _WinAPI_CreateSolidBitmap($hConsole, 0xFF0000, 16, 16) ConsoleWrite('@@ Debug(' & @ScriptLineNumber & ') : $hBmp1 = ' & $hBmp1 & @CRLF & '>Error code: ' & @error & @CRLF) ;### Debug Console $hBmp2 = _WinAPI_CreateSolidBitmap($hConsole, 0x00FF00, 16, 16) ConsoleWrite('@@ Debug(' & @ScriptLineNumber & ') : $hBmp2 = ' & $hBmp2 & @CRLF & '>Error code: ' & @error & @CRLF) ;### Debug Console ;ConsoleWrite(_GUICtrlMenu_SetItemBmp($hSysmenu, $id_Test, $hBitmap_GDI, False) & @CRLF) ConsoleWrite(_GUICtrlMenu_SetItemBitmaps($hSysmenu, $id_Test, $hBmp1, $hBmp2, False) & ", " & @error & @CRLF) ;_GUICtrlMenu_SetItemBmp($hSysmenu, $id_Test, 8, False) ;set the default close icon _GDIPlus_Shutdown() Do Sleep(1000) Until False Func _Exit() ConsoleWrite("Bye..." & @CRLF) _GUICtrlMenu_DeleteMenu ($hSysmenu, $id_Test, False) _WinAPI_DeleteObject($hBitmap_GDI) _WinAPI_DeleteObject($hBmp1) _WinAPI_DeleteObject($hBmp2) Exit EndFunc ;Code below was generated by: 'File to Base64 String' Code Generator v1.20 Build 2020-06-05 Func _Test($bSaveBinary = False, $sSavePath = @ScriptDir) Local $Test $Test &= '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' $Test &= 'qdfrRmutJp6e4q+tKsbYs3in7+7r65OhoSE9MzNjkiRBt9ttkiRxjTHkcjl3bGxMPYhjSdP0rLvdLt1uF9d1BcDzPHdyclL0yspKuLGxcT0IgkeKxaINgsADXBFxAefEQB4ImNT3/W4Yhk6z2awtLy9H/wPnrsNEnFPl4QAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==' Local $bString = _WinAPI_Base64Decode($Test) If @error Then Return SetError(1, 0, 0) $bString = Binary($bString) If $bSaveBinary Then Local Const $hFile = FileOpen($sSavePath & "\AutoSave_16x16_04.png", 18) If @error Then Return SetError(2, 0, $bString) FileWrite($hFile, $bString) FileClose($hFile) EndIf Return $bString EndFunc ;==>_Test Func _WinAPI_Base64Decode($sB64String) Local $aCrypt = DllCall("Crypt32.dll", "bool", "CryptStringToBinaryA", "str", $sB64String, "dword", 0, "dword", 1, "ptr", 0, "dword*", 0, "ptr", 0, "ptr", 0) If @error Or Not $aCrypt[0] Then Return SetError(1, 0, "") Local $bBuffer = DllStructCreate("byte[" & $aCrypt[5] & "]") $aCrypt = DllCall("Crypt32.dll", "bool", "CryptStringToBinaryA", "str", $sB64String, "dword", 0, "dword", 1, "struct*", $bBuffer, "dword*", $aCrypt[5], "ptr", 0, "ptr", 0) If @error Or Not $aCrypt[0] Then Return SetError(2, 0, "") Return DllStructGetData($bBuffer, 1) EndFunc ;==>_WinAPI_Base64Decode

Recently I was working on a script with icons using GuiCtrkCreatIcon.
I decided to change the sub folder name of the icons to a more meaning name, however made a typo.

I tested the .exe on my test computer and it worked flawlessly (because both icon folder where on my test computer) 😁
But after I installed the script on the intended computers , I got chaos!😵
Zooming into the problem, I discovered, that because the icons could not be found, the ControlID were returned with a value of 0
and thus played havoc within the GuiGetMsg() switch/case statement.
I have been able to reproduce this  (see example)
      #include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> ;============================================================================================================ ; PLEASE, do not save this example in the example folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\Examples\Helpfile ;============================================================================================================ Example() Func Example() GUICreate(" My GUI Icons", 250, 250) $Icon1 = GUICtrlCreateIcon("shell32.dll", 10, 20, 20) $Icon2 = GUICtrlCreateIcon(@ScriptDir & '\Extras\horse.ani', -1, 20, 40, 32, 32) $Icon3 = GUICtrlCreateIcon("shell32.dll", 7, 20, 75, 32, 32) GUISetState(@SW_SHOW) ;$Icon2 = -1 ; ==> When this line is uncommented the script "works", so -1 could be a potential fix. ; Loop until the user exits. While 1 Switch GUIGetMsg() Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE ExitLoop Case $Icon2 Beep (500,500) EndSwitch WEnd GUIDelete() EndFunc ;==>Example If you save the above script outside the Autoit example folder and run it, it will keep beeping because GuiCtrlCreatIcon did not find horse.ani and return $Icon2=0.
At the moment GUICtrlCreateIcon () only returns the conntrolID on success and 0 on failure.
I would like to propose a return of -1 on failure, so a existing and working script won't go awry when the icon can not be found.

Cannot find example how to locate taskbar icon coordinates or position by window handle.
I want to use PixelChecksum to check only rectangle area over specified taskbar item.
      Please help.
What I already have found and succesfully run for whole taskbar area:
      $taskbar = WinGetHandle("[Class:Shell_TrayWnd]") $taskbarPos = WinGetPos($taskbar) $tasklistPos = ControlGetPos($taskbar, "", "[CLASS:MSTaskListWClass; INSTANCE:1]")  $iOldCheckSum = PixelChecksum($taskbarPos[0] + $tasklistPos[0], $taskbarPos[1] + $tasklistPos[1], $taskbarPos[0] + $tasklistPos[2], $taskbarPos[1] + $tasklistPos[3]);
I know also that I can pass window handle as parameter to PixelChecksum, but don't know how to do this with taskbar icon.

Also I was able to find something similar but seems outdated: WatchWindows

      __
      thanks in advance

Is it possible to compile script without any icon resources included?
When I make exe it uses default system icon of current OS even if I compile as console application.
On other versions of Windows it looks a little strange

      Update:
It seems that the only way is remove icons from exe after compilation using resource editors like ResHacker.

      another bad solution:
Using corrupted 35 bytes icon file. Windows can't load it and shows default system icon.
      #pragma compile(Icon, broken.ico) broken.ico

      ICU - Icon Configuration Utility

      Current Version: v6 (2018-Sep-16)
Restore your desktop when the icons get "rearranged".
Melba23 and I found we were working on very similar ideas to restore the Desktop icons to their normal place if they became "rearranged" (
). Vista seems to like this doing on occasion just for fun - but we all know some apps and games which change the display resolution or move icons around. This annoys "tidy" people who like their desktops arranged "just so" - I am particularly thinking of this desktop when I say that!
We combined efforts and here is the result of our labors.
Operation is easy - press "Save" to store a particular configuration and "Restore" to reset the icons to the saved positions in the selected configuration file. "Delete" allows you to remove unwanted configuration files from the list. There is a command line option so that the restoration can be run via HotKeys if required (that is why the script warns that it should be compiled for full functionality). You can decide what to do with any icons that have been added since you last saved the configuration file - the default is to put them in the top-left corner, but you can also banish them way off-screen or, more sensibly, specify a location for them.
A new feature as of ICU v3.4 is the optional Desktop Contextmenu Integration (DCI) for Win7 (Win7 only because Microsoft implemented an easy way to do this through the registry as of this release).
Version 3.3 should fix the empty save file bug
Version 3.4 Win7: Admin rights no longer needed for DCI
Version 5.0 Win8 compatibility for DCI
The source and executable can be downloaded from my site: http://www.funk.eu
Kudos to Ascend4nt, Melba23, Prog@ndy, & Valik for parts of the code.
Please let me know if you found some piece of code in the source for which I forgot to mention a credit.
Enjoy, let me know what you think of ICU and with Best Regards
