this code opens the folder I want. yea

$Path = "Apacefeatures1active_projects_a-d FEATURES"
Run("C:WINDOWSEXPLORER.EXE /n,/e," & $Path)

but......I dont want "Explorer" to do it, the window looks different when I just double click the folder icon on the desktop. How do I get the folder to open by double clicking.

Try this:

ShellExecute("Explorer.exe","Apacefeatures1active_projects_a-dFEATURES")

sbrady,

We are not mind readers - hence our use of Explorer as it was what you were using in your initial post. :)

And the result looks the same to me whether I open the folder shortcut or do it programatically - as I would expect. ;)
