display text on status bar

 is there a way to display text on the status bar or anywhere on the browser. I am using this to display that the automated testing script is still running so I cannot have it pausing the execution of the automation run - any suggestion for this would be appreciated - can it be run using vbscript? I'm using Quick test professional as the automation tool and it is written in vbscript.

 

Any advice please?

If you run IE as browser you can use the IE UDF and function _IEPropertySet to set the text in the status bar.
