13lack13lade Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Hi guys, So im wanting to create something that is a link that gets sent out via email at work (so can use local network) where you click on a link and it puts the person whos clicked on the link's username in an inifile or sometihng like that.. so i have a way to track who has read the email and clicked on the link. Would the easiest way to do this just be to create an autoit script to, edit ini file insert new line with @username, save, close... keep in mind multiple users may try to access this file at the same time.. And would that work if i have the autoit file on the local network and just give them the local filepath e.g serverfilepathlog.exe Just wondering the best way to do it, dont need anything amazing just a very simple log..
water Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 keep in mind multiple users may try to access this file at the same time..That's not easy to code. I suggest to use a database. They are made for concurrent access. 13lack13lade Posted April 14, 2014 Author Posted April 14, 2014 would it be easier to code it so that when each person clicks on the link it creates a new .txtfile with there username in folder? Could be a way around that but not too sure.. if not will try another route. Thanks water.
water Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 That would be a better solution.
