Creating a service

So I've been trying to create a service using the Service UDF here :  >UDF

But I keep getting 0 returned, which means failure, and no service appears in the service viewer.

My goal here is to create a service which will launch an autoit exe before a user logs on.

Here's my code:

$Return =_Service_Create("MY new Service", "NEW SERVICE",  $SERVICE_INTERACTIVE_PROCESS, $SERVICE_AUTO_START, $SERVICE_ERROR_IGNORE,'"C:\Program Files\xxx\xxx.exe"')

MsgBox("","",$Return)
MsgBox("","",@error)

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I am running it as admin

What is the value of @error (in the 2nd msgbox) ?

Ok so I got it to work by changing it from an interactive process to "$SERVICE_WIN32_OWN_PROCESS"; but now I get an error when attempting to start it that the process did not respond in a timely fashion. Error 1053

The binary file MUST be capable to run as service.  Is this the case ?

It's an exe I created in AutoIT, how would I go about having it be able to run as a service?

Well, there are 2 examples in the Service UDF archive.

Look at the code in ServiceExample_v3.au3 and search for #region --> insert your running code here

The second message box in that example posted is always going to return 0 for @error because you're running it after the first MsgBox function and that function resets @error to 0.
