I´m trying to use the new function _Excel_RangeRead in the updated UDF Excel.au3. It looks better than the old one but I can´t make it work.

#include <Excel.au3>

$oExcel = ObjGet("", "Excel.Application") ; Get an existing Excel Object

$aArray = _Excel_RangeRead ( $oExcel,1 ,"C15:E20",1)

MsgBox ( 1, "Titel", $aArray[1][1]  )

I get the following error:

"M:PonnyAutoitScriptsTest2.au3" (14) : ==> Subscript used on non-accessible variable.:
MsgBox ( 1, "Titel", $aArray[1][1]  )
MsgBox ( 1, "Titel", $aArray^ ERROR

Can someone please help me out?

Welcome to AutoIt and the forum!

Please have a look at the example for _Excel_RangeRead in the help file. It explains how the function needs to be used.

I checked the help file before writing in this forum and also tested the exemples. Worked fine but my first try didn´t.

I´m just trying to read a range filled with numbers in a worksheet and test if I suceeded with the messagebox

The new Excel UDF doesn't work the same way as the old did.

You need to call

  • _Excel_Open: Start Excel or connect to an already running instance
  • _Excel_BookOpen: To open an existing Excel file or _Excel_BookAttach to connect to an already opened Workbook
  • _Excel_RangeRead in your case.
