word udf - hangs on _Word_DocOpen

I noticed that when I open up doctest.doc via Word, I see at the top Word says [readonly] [compatibility mode on]

I created another copy of the document , edited it again to make sure it did not say [readonly] then ran the program again.

It ran successfully.

So the readonly flag must have been the culprit.

Moving on.

You could set parameter $bReadOnly = True to open a readonly file in readonly mode. Maybe this works too?
