I doubt that's what's causing the error, but I'm pretty sure without escaping the % characters (^ caret), you're just (attempting to) insert(ing) a literal string into the reg value. (from Reg Add /?) REG ADD HKLM\Software\MyCo /v Path /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d ^%systemroot^% Adds a value (name: Path, type: REG_EXPAND_SZ, data: %systemroot%) Notice: Use the caret symbol ( ^ ) inside the expand string Now the & in the reg path may be the culprit. Try escaping that as well. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise.
