Nbr_One Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 The sample code below works fine in a 32 bit OS, but does not work in a 64 bit OS. Does anyone have a suggestion? I use the WinWait command to capture the handle for an open window and then use WinActivate with the handle to bring that specific window to the foreground. The example uses a notepad file as a very simple test. In my production system, I want to open a specific html window for our ERP system. Source code: Dim $This_Window = "Contact Center Info.txt - Notepad" ; MsgBox(0, "First Step", "WinWait will get handle for This_Window") Local $hWnd = WinWait($This_Window, "", 10) ; MsgBox(0,"Handle for this window", $hWnd) MsgBox(0, "Next step", "now execute winactivate for this Window by handle name") ; Activate the Notepad window using the handle returned by WinWait. WinActivate($hWnd)
Subz Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Works find for me, Windows 10 x64 Enterprise 1607.
Nbr_One Posted January 18, 2017 Author Posted January 18, 2017 Thanks for testing it. We are actually running on Windows 7 x64 Enterprise. Perhaps this issue is unique to our environment. Unfortunately, I have no idea when we will be upgrading to Windows 10.
Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted January 18, 2017 Moderators Posted January 18, 2017 It works well for me on both Win 7 and Win 10, as well. "Profanity is the last vestige of the feeble mind. BrewManNH Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 The use of Dim is discouraged, not deprecated, too easy to screw something up using it. Also, I ran this script on Win10 and it worked ok for me. I ran it as an x86 program as well as x64. I even tried running Notepad as an Administrator and not, and running the script as admin and not and still worked every time. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise.
