ercicttech Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Hello.. This is probably something REALLY simple. I'm wanting to script lifting some basic details from AD. $Name = "SmithJ" $aObjects = _AD_GetObjectsInOU("", "(ANR=" & $Name & ")", 2, "sAMAccountName, distinguishedName, displayname", "displayname") However.. When I run that, the array shows the details for any user with SmithJ* (so SmithJ, SmithJ1, SmithJ2 etc). I guess it's like if I use the search on the AD Management MMC, it shows the exact same thing. So my question is - how do I get AutoIt to only search for the EXACT user name? I could use some lines that do for next, "if name in array doesn't exactly match $Name, then skip" - but that seems clunky. I'm assuming there's something dead easy I need to add to the $aObjects line to force it to ONLY look for "SmithJ". All assistance gratefully received.
Solution water Posted June 21, 2022 Solution Posted June 21, 2022 ANR stands for Ambiguous Name Resolution. This means don't use ANR but specify the property to search for for an exact match. ercicttech Posted June 21, 2022 Author Posted June 21, 2022 Oh, for goodness sake... I feel like a doof. sAMAccountName= instead of ANR= works a treat. Many thanks for that..
