You can put the richtx32.ocx and if the obj is not found just install it using cmdline.

One remark/segestion:

if you started new document (tab), and trying to close it, i think that there must shown some warning message that alert you about the changes that was made in the curent tab.

I forgot to add scintilla.h.au3 to the zip file, I will do it when I get back on my own computer later.

And yes, I forgot to check for modifications before closing tab. I will add to the To Do list.

And also, i think that it be usefull that if all icons-buttons will have some basic tooltip when hover on them

make sure it is in C:\WINDOWS\System32 and put "regsvr32 richtx32.ocx" without quotes in the Start>Run box

Why the script canot do it himself? like this:

I have an executable that does it, it's just not in the zip. I'll add it in just now.

I have registered it already, and I have also run the executable that registers it, but I still get the same error regardless.

Edit: It's also listed under my HKLM\Software\Classes and the script works if I do this:

Why would it want to give me an error message when it works if this is uncommented?

Also, a suggestion would be to have all other files be included with fileinstall for an exported exe for people who just want one file instead of worrying about folders and whatever.

The paste icon is in the middle of the screen if the script is allowed to run and your computer does not have a working RICHTEXT.RichTextCtrl object.

Also, if the script exits due to the $Console variable not being a valid object, then that means it won't work even if you comment out the check.

Are you using a limited account or something similar to that(guest,etc.)?

Also, make sure you have the RichText object by checking for the following file:

@WindowsDir & "\System32\richtx32.ocx"

Then use OleView to check to see if it is being seen by the system. You can get OleView here if you don't already have it:

Once you have it, click Object Classes Tree, then click all objects and look for RichText.

no i'm not using a limited account, and the control is properly installed.

and i can see it in OLEView, ProgID Browser, vb5cce's internal browser...

i read on msdn that this control comes with a license.

there is a Design time license (comes with vb6 or alike) and a Runtime license.

The Runtime license should be redistributed with the control, which isnt the case

The needed license is stored somewhere in the registry but i didnt find a hint where.

But dont spend too much time on that problem because i'd rather wait until the console window

LMFAO. I run the script and it simultaneously tells me 1. Registration completed successfully and 2. RICHTEXT.RichTextCtrl Object Is not installed

Sorry for late reply, I haven't had Internet access.

The Active X object needs other files to run but I don't know which ones. If anyone knows how to make the console use scintilla then your help would be appreciated as I don't know how to implement custom styling.
