emendelson Posted April 20, 2014 Share Posted April 20, 2014 I've read the posts about the "Error adding files" when adding an .exe file through aut2exe under Windows 7, but I'm still unable to turn off the error message, and hope someone can help. I have no trouble compiling my script in a Windows XP VM, but under 32-bit Windows 7, I get stopped by the Error adding files message when I try to add an .exe file to compiled script. I've turned off and even uninstalled Microsoft Security Essentials; I've added aut2exe and UsersmynameAppDataLocalAutoIt v3Aut2Exe. I still get the error message. emendelson Posted April 20, 2014 Author Share Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) Thanks for testing this, because it tells me that I've got something strange going on in this machine. I added the exe and the data folder as exceptions; that didn't help. I reinstalled Security Essentials and tried adding exceptions again. That didn't help. I've looked through all running services to see if there's anything else going on, but can't find anything. This only occurs when I'm adding an .exe to the compiled script, by the way. If I figure this out, I'll post the answer here. Meanwhile, if anyone has any other ideas, I'll be very grateful.
