Format "large" amount of text

I have a text file (our telephone directory) and would like to print it in a readable form. That means format it with tables, bold text, page numbers and so on.

At the moment I'm unsure which way to go.

• Should I use M$ Word - but I'm afraid of the learning curve

• Or should I use RTF?

• Something else?

What do you suggest? Any suggestion is appreciated!

I would go with RTF and then if you want to make it stand alone try one of the free tools like this one

After rethinking what I need I now use Excel. Everything works fine now.
