Hello,

Was not sure how to begin, or what to search for, so here I am..

How would I begin to make a program constantly read stuff from another program?

Console Read does not seem to be it.

I think console read only gets the launch parameters for the program.

I want an active communication instead.

============

* Call the program I am coding "Program"

* Call the program to communicate with "Server"

Server will always be outputing data to console.

I want Program to take data from the server, interpret each line, & send data or do stuff if it needs to.

Ex:

console: 2010-11-08 01:20:27 [iNFO] <RandomClown> rcon save test

Program will read this line, & backup the server data.

console: 2010-11-08 01:20:40 [iNFO] <RandomClown> rcon load test

Program will send "stop" to the server, then restore the server data, & start the server again.

Thanks for reading.

Haven't done it myself ... but search the forum for "inter process communication" or "inter script communication" and you will find some threads that lead you into the right direction.
