water Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 I would let the user enter the password into the password field of MDaemon and press "OK" himself. dd2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Author Posted November 12, 2010 water- is there any way to have the password be validated with a function within the script? I got a password input box to pop up and have the user type in their password but I was curious if you knew of a way to have the password be validated with AD before the script continued just in case the user typed in their password wrong the script would make them type it again until they got it correct and then continue on. thanks!
water Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 (edited) Yes you can. It's not very elegant but use something like: $iResult = _AD_Open($sUserId, $sPassword) if $iResult <> 1 then MsgBox(0,"","Error validating userid/Password: " & @error) Else _AD_Close() Endif To get detailed information if @error > 8 (only on Windows Vista and later) you have to call _AD_GetLastADSIError.
