LurchMan
I mean, why this particular number was chosen? On what basis was it?Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's just what Windows knows the icons as. I know its the same numbers for the same icons in VB anyways.Edit: Melba's Explanation is better.. Edited January 5, 2011 by LurchMan Dating a girl is just like writing software. Everything's going to work just fine in the testing lab (dating), but as soon as you have contract with a customer (marriage), then your program (life) is going to be facing new situations you never expected. You'll be forced to patch the code (admit you're wrong) and then the code (wife) will just end up all bloated and unmaintainable in the end. Moderators Melba23 Posted January 5, 2011 Moderators Share Posted January 5, 2011 Scan,On the MsgBox page in the Help file you can also see the Hex values of the various flag parameters. If you look at them closely, you will see that the button flags all set the lowest digit of the complete Hex value (0 to 6), the icon flags set the second digit (10 to 40), the default flags set the third (100 to 200), the modality flags the fourth (1000 to 2000) and the final miscellaneous flags the fifth (40000 to 80000).When Windows looks at the value you put in the MsgBox flags parameter, it actually sees the value in binary which makes it very easy to spot which of the flags has been set using a BitAnd operation. Does that satisfy your curiosity? If it sounds like complete Chinese (or Greek or any other language you do not understand!) then you need to read a little on binary arithmetic and understand how the different bits are set when you use the flags. Scan
thanx all .. It has become clear now If you could bring a link ( binary arithmetic )to read a bout it a bit ? hope I did't bother anyone with my questions u can explain with this example if you want !! $x = BitNot(5) #cs Comments: Result is -6 because for 32-bit numbers 5 == 00000000000000000000000000000101 binary -6 == 11111111111111111111111111111010 binary and the first bit is signed #ce Edited January 5, 2011 by Scan
