PimpDaddy Posted March 12, 2011 Share Posted March 12, 2011 Hi, I want to select an item of a system tray icon's context menu WITHOUT SENDING KEYSTROKES. For example: Open Outlook's context menu and selecting/deselecting "Show New Mail Desktop Alert". I already now how to perform a right mouse click on the Outlook's system tray icon but how to select a menu item. I use the function "_SysTrayIconProcesses ()" of the udf "Systray_UDF.au3" to perform the right mouse click and this works very well. I experienced that very often sending keystrokes does not work properly 100 percent so I don't want to use this method. As I know the items text contents I could use it to select the item. I am surprised that you have had trouble Sending keystrokes - are you Sending cursor movements or accelerator keys?I have always found the former very reliable and I have never had a problem with the latter (when the menu allows them) - but I would advise you to add a short (250ms or so) Sleep after keystrokes that open submenus to allow the menu to react.
