thatguypursue
I've got a script that creates a log file. Before the script exits, I would like to be able to email the text file to my email account. The only problem is I get an "error code 32" message from blat.exe. (my smtp send program) This error seems to indicate the the text file is locked. I've checked my script and every time I use "FileOpen" I close it with "FileClose." Does FileClose have a delay? Is there a way for me to wait until a file is fully unlocked? Code example: $logname = test.txt FileOpen($logname, 1) FileWrite($logname, "Here we go") FileClose($logname) Run ("email.bat", "") ;Email.bat emails the contents of "test.txt", this works when the script isn't active MsgBox(0, "Email", "Email Time") Edited June 17, 2011 by thatguypursue
guinness
RemarksUpon termination, AutoIt automatically closes any files it opened, but calling FileClose is still a good idea. From the Help File in FileClose(). It should be instantaneous, so there must be more to the problem then FileClose(). Have you thought about using _INetMail() to send the Email instead OR _INetSmtpMailCom() by Jos? BrewManNH
Try making sure that Windows Explorer isn't showing the folder the file is in. There's been reports, usually when trying to compile a script and not reading/opening a file but might be related, that you can't update the file when Windows Explorer is showing that folder. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Example below for reference.$logname = test.txtFileOpen($logname, 1)FileWrite($logname, "Here we go")FileClose($logname)FileOpen($logname)$mailbody = FileRead($logname)FileClose($logname)(put email code here, $Body = $mailbodyMsgBox(0, "Email", "Email Time")Much appreciated guys!
