Check who runs a script

Is there a way to check which user runs the script?

Logged on user is x

Local Admin is user y

both can run the script with RunAs...

Use @UserName to get the name of the Current Logged on user. And get the Local Admin this can be done with WMI, perhaps Win32_GroupUser??

So AutoIt has no function to check who runs the script?

Unless I'm understanding this wrong (which is a good possibility), if you just check the @UserName macro within AutoIt you will see who's running it so to speak. Test it with the code below:

MsgBox (0, "", @UserName)

When I tested it (on Windows XP) after doing a RunAs it showed the username that was used for RunAs not the current logged in user.

Edit: With my understanding of windows, when you do a RunAs it actually builds an entirely new local profile on the computer and runs everything out of that.

For the logged on user you can use next :

On windows 7 i use :

$RegKey = "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI"

$LoggedOnUser = RegRead($RegKey, "LastLoggedOnUser")

on Windows xp i use :

$RegKey = "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon"

$LoggedOnUser = RegRead($RegKey, "DefaultUserName")

Who execute it -> @username

Depends on your definition of "local profile" and how you use/call RunAsWait().

RunAsWait ( "username", "domain", "password", logon_flag, "program" [, "workingdir" [, show_flag [, opt_flag ]]] )

0 - Interactive logon with no profile.

1 - Interactive logon with profile.

2 - Network credentials only.

4 - Inherit the calling processes environment instead of the user's.
