Maffe811 Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 If you run the script below, you will get something. $RegVar = RegRead("HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.html", "") MsgBox(4096, "", $RegVar) I get FirefoxHTML and firfox is what i wanna use at home. But when i got to school, firefox doesn't work for some reason, so i wanna make it use chrome as default. So im planning to do this by network SSID wich i have no problem with, but i don't know what to do. Currently i have 2 ideas: 1. Make the code change all the .html .shtml etc from FirefoxHTML to ChromeHTML (means changing all the registry values everytime) or 2. Change all the .html .shtml etc into BrowserHTML and then change BrowserHTML into Firefox.exe when im home and Chrome.exe when im at school (means changing all the registry values once, and then change 1 registry value everytime) Thats my 2 ideas, any suggestion on wich to use or if you have another simpler idea come with it! Chimaera Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Assuming i haven't read it wrong Firefox probably doesn't work at school because the network admin has set it that way, at a guess And its likely the same may be said for chrome If Ive just helped you ... miracles do happen. guinness Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 That's how I read it, probably best to ask the administrator of the school whether you can use Chrome, plus he or she has probably locked down any access to the registry. On a side note I get Opera.HTML. That's how I read it, probably best to ask the administrator of the school whether you can use Chrome, plus he or she has probably locked down any access to the registry. On a side note I get Opera.HTML. As far as i can see i can edit the registry just fine.Im asking if there is any chance of destroying the registry if i keep editing alot of stuff all the time. And if there is a simpler way. PAEz Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Not sure if I totally get your question, but...Chrome and FireFox can both set themselves as default browsers with a command line switch, maybe thats what you want.
