jbg1978
I use the ShellExecuteWait function and it sets @error to 3, but I am unable to find a reference guide for what the return errors mean for that function. Please advise. Thanks, Jason
guinness
What happens when you use run? Looking at MSDN it could be the file isn't a valid exe, but this is just a guess. BrewManNH
Error 3 is ERROR_PATH_NOT_FOUND for ShellExecute, which I assume should be the same for ShellExecuteWait. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. trancexx
Do not make assumptions about the meaning of the error code. If not documented there are big chances you would be mislead. jbg1978, consider updating your AutoIt to the latest stable version if not already. ♡♡♡ . eMyvnE
BrewManNH
I got the error code from the ShellExecute page on MSDN, I assumed (once again using that word, very dangerous I know) that AutoIt followed Microsoft's error codes for the function. If not, then I stand corrected. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. jbg1978
Thanks for the suggestions. I wasn't ware that it was setting the @error variable to the run-time error returned by the COM object. I will take a look at that and also make sure I have the latest production release of AutoIT.
