Windows 7 Stuff to Windows XP

I've used windows 7 all until I reinstalled my computer because i was in lack of memory. I miss thoose really helpful functions like:

- If I drag the window to the edge of the screen it maximize it (or allign it to right & left)

- A button with show destop

The Second task Is quite easy, but I don't really know how to strart with the first.

I have to look for the currently active windows, and if the user clicked on the title bar and dragged till the mouse touches the edge the use a WinMove. Any ideas how to make it?

Oh, and of course it shouldn't use 20% CPU / 2Gb Ram :S

Another idea: I can apply a 10% or similar transparency to all the windows. (Can be done easily, just got into my mind)

I wrote a simple utility for moving and sizing windows called Moveit

It's free for use at your own risk. You can download from this page:

It doesn't have Aero Snap per se, but it has "snap to quadrant" and other defined positions where you hotkey the window into the spot. Also you can size a window, then custom save it as one of the positions. The sizes are done as percentages of the work area. Therefore it should work reasonably well in different screen resolutions.

Yes, I know, but the problem starts the that I can't start. I don't need a written source, just some ideas how can I start making this.

I thought about writing a script like this. I don't like the idea of constantly querying mousepos and _ispressed. I was hoping I would stumble upon a sort of mouse hits screen edge and mouse drag event in windows. But I haven't yet.

Maybe I could get the currently active window, and if the mouse is at the title bar, then it waits for a click. If that click comes from the edge the winmove the currently active window. Hmm I have to try it in real
