asym Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 I was working on a script that read a .txt file line by line and then compared each line with the files in the same directory, if any file on that directory had a name that was not on the .txt file it should be deleted I managed to get the .txt to be read line by line with the FileReadLine, but I can't get it to compare with the files in the same directory and delete the files not found Any help on this?

BrewManNH Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 (edited) Use _FileListToArray to get all of the files in the folder. Use _FileReadToArray to read the text file. Loop through the array from the file list, and then do an _ArraySearch on the array from the text file. Here's a demo. #include <File.au3> #include <Array.au3> Global $aTextFileList $aFileList = _FileListToArray(@MyDocumentsDir) _FileReadToArray("MyFileList.txt", $aTextFileList) For $I = 1 To $aFileList[0] If _ArraySearch($aTextFileList, $aFileList[$I]) = -1 Then ConsoleWrite("!File " & $aFileList[$I] & " isn't in the text file" & @CRLF) EndIf Next Edited July 27, 2012 by BrewManNH asym 1 If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise.
