Hi I am looking for an explanation about this variable.. it is set for 16, I am just wondering why there is that limit and it things will break if it is increased..

I can't see a reason why increasing that value would break it, but I also can't see a reason to increase it.

I was using GuiRichEdit and _GuiCtrlRichEdit_Create is calling this before it create the rich edit control, if > 16 the control is not created..

I would be interesting to know why 16 was the chosen value and not 18 or 20 for example.

The whole GlobalId idea was bad one. I guess it was meant to be a way to speed-up some things but side effect is unnecessary UDF code that needs maintaining. Bad choice anyway.

The 'controlid' is used for the 'handle instance' parameter in _WinAPI_CreateWindowEx, well for the functions I looked at anyway.
