Shimgreen Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 I use the CDO.Message component to try and send an email but it always fails on the send part. I do not get it and I am frustrated because I cannot for the life of me understand why it wont work, I use almost this exact same code in VB6 and it will work fine, I try to use in .au3 and always an error on the send line. Can someone please help me figure this out I would be thankful. Also, please note that I did not post my gmail account and password in the code being shown. $oMail = ObjCreate("CDO.Message") $oMAIL.Subject = "test" $oMAIL.From = "Cody" $oMAIL.Sender = "ChainHQ" $oMAIL.To = "codymatt_82@hotmail.com" $oMAIL.TextBody = "testing" $oMAIL.Configuration.Fields.Item("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendusing") = 2 $oMAIL.Configuration.Fields.Item("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserver") = "smtp.gmail.com" $oMAIL.Configuration.Fields.Item("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpauthenticate") = 1 $oMAIL.Configuration.Fields.Item("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendusername") = "SECRET" $oMAIL.Configuration.Fields.Item("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendpassword") = "SECRET" $oMAIL.Configuration.Fields.Item("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserverport") = 465 $oMAIL.Configuration.Fields.Item("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpusessl") = True $oMAIL.Configuration.Fields.Update $oMAIL.Send

flyingboz Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 specifically, the 'myerrfunc' code, and registering the event handler to get an actual error message may prove helpful. I use the cdoMailer extensively, and have found it to be solid, though the methods can be finicky. Reading the help file before you post... Not only will it make you look smarter, it will make you smarter.
Shimgreen Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 @water, im gonna look into that right now.
Shimgreen Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 haha, the written by Jos is obviously 10x superior to mine, and works like a charm. No need to make my own crappier version Thread solved.
