64 vs 32 scripts.

So for the last 1-2 years, i have been working on a system script that makes using my computer easier. Around half way though i switched the script to x64 (because some code required it to be so).

Now i have removed said code, it is free to be 32 or 64 bit again.

So my question is,

Assuming the script has not be written as a 64 bit application is there any benfits / drawbacks from compling it as 64 over 32 ?

drawbacks: It won't run on 32bit Windows

benefits: Close to nothing. The benefit of the much greater address space should hardly be really required.

Take care of the different addressing of certain registry paths, in case your script uses them:

Google around, you will find many topics discussing the exact same question. My input is this, if you don't know or see the advantage/disadvantages to using 64-bit over 32-bit, then stick to 32-bit for now.

Welcome to the Forum. This is off-topic from the original question as well as being a little vague as to what you tried and on what platform exactly? e.g. Windows 7 32-bit?

Please re-word your issue and create a new thread. It will also help if you post a small reproducer too.
