Stdout i think?

Is there a way to take the output of a batch file and put it into a better looking gui?

 

Say i have a batch file to performs file copies, i would like to hid the cmd window and show the screen output in a better looking gui.

 

Is that even possible?

Yes, but why not use AutoIt to do the copying and make it all much easier?

If you need to stick with the batch files then you will find a lot of examples on the forum how to hide the DOS window and grab the output of the copy commands.

@Melba23 The file copy was just an example.

@Water I just wasnt sure if Stdout was what i was looking for.

Would i be able to hide the batch file while the file copy is being performed and show the current copies as they are happening in a Autoit Gui with Stdout/Stdread?

Or would i have to wait until that process is closed to show the output?

Check function "Run" for the show_flag to hide the window and "StdOutRead" for examples how to process the output to the window.
